Visitor Payback Scheme

Visitor payback initiatives are locally based programmes which allow visitors to the destination to take a proactive part in the preservation of the environment in the destination. Eco-tourism is a difficult concept to understand. We want you to come to the fantastic North Norfolk coast  but we need to do everything we can to minimise the impact of your visit on the environment. Here at Cranmer we take this very seriously and have developed our own payback scheme for visitors to contribute to.

One of the most exciting 'things to do' on your holiday at Cranmer is to visit the seal colony on Blakeney Point. Grey and common seals make up the colonly and there are ususally up to 500 seals based there. Grey seals have their young between November and January (which is why the recent storm surge and flooding on the North Norfolk coast has been such a problem for them). Common seals have their young between June and August. it's a magnificient sight and one not to be missed on your holiday.

We are asking every guest to make a voluntary £1 donation to the East Winch RSPCA centre in Norfolk, where rescued seals and their pups are cared for and rehabilitated back into the wild. For more information click here

To make sure your donation is made, just tick the box on your booking form which says 'Visitor Payback Scheme'. Our secure system will do the rest and Cranmer Country Cottages will match fund your donation. Details of the amounts raised will be placed on the website.
