Christmas and Winter Short Breaks at Cranmer Country Cottages
Christmas at Cranmer is a truly magical experience. Dressed in their Christmas finery, our stylish cottages offer the best in open plan relaxation for family and friends with log fires in two of our cottages for that real country living experience.
Cottages open out onto a large fenced garden area; mums, dads and grandparents can relax and enjoy a break while the children work off their excitement and, if they are really lucky, build a snowman.
North Norfolk is one of the loveliest places to visit at Christmas. Holkham beach is one of our favourite places to walk off our Christmas dinner or wake ourselves up on Boxing Day and there is always the exciting anticipation of snow. Or, if you really don’t feel like going out, you can work off your calories in the pool.
There are plenty of things to do at Christmas; if you are tired of high street multiples there are plenty of independent shops in Holt, Burnham Market and Wells-Next-The-Sea where you can find a range of locally produced and exclusive merchandise to browse.
If you are shopped out, why not visit Sandringham where you might, on Christmas Day for example, catch a glimpse of the Royal Family and their newest member. The restaurant at Sandringham is open all over Christmas and New Year for Debbie Steward’s excellent seasonal menu. There are lots of other things to do with the children – what about a trip to Santa’s grotto on a real steam train, or Christmas celebrations at Holkham Hall?
Christmas is all about good food and we have some of the best restaurants, farm shops and providers of all things edible and Christmassy for a gourmet experience. If you feel like taking time out from cooking, we can recommend excellent local caterers to provide your Christmas fayre.
If you prefer to stay at home over Christmas, why not try a short pre-Christmas shopping break? We have a range of independent retailers in North Norfolk which will give you the chance to buy something that little bit different for under the tree. As well as local shopping destinations, there is Norwich, which is listed as one of the top 10 places to shop in the UK.

When you get back from your day out shopping, you can relax with a swim in the pool or a meal at one of our local restaurants. Or just kick off your shoes and take advantage of our ready-made meals menu.
