Green Exercise

Green Exercise is any informal physical activity that takes place outdoors: from gardening, cycling and walking in urban green areas, to kite flying and conservation projects in the countryside. Green exercise connects people to nature in their local areas and it is one of the most cost-effective ways of improving the nation's physical and mental wellbeing.

Complementary Therapies?

Complimentary therapies are those which work alongside traditional treatments to aide and enhance wellbeing.

At Cranmer guests can take a run, walk or cycle ride from the front doorstep and quickly get away from the main roads and traffic. When the weather is not so good visitors can take a dip in the pool or book a massage in their cottage or at nearby Tidal Therapies (15 mins drive).

For those wishing to experience something different there is Nordic Walking in the heart of the Norfolk countryside close by.

What is Nordic Walking?

Nordic Walking uses two specially designed walking poles to work the upper body while walking. Like cross country skiing, from which it was developed, the poles are used by the arms to match each step the person takes. In Mainland Europe over 500,000 people have taken up the exercise to give them a good workout and specifically to loosen off their shoulders and necks. It is a time efficient, low-stress and total body workout.

Tidal Therapies, North Norfolk's Complementary Therapy, Beauty and Wellness Centre is located at Creake Abbey Studios, North Creake. http://www.tidaltherapies.co.uk/nordicwalking.php
